The author of the Exploring Citizenship series, Chris Sunderland, is Coordinator of AGORA, an organisation established to pioneer initiatives for the renewal of civil society amongst both adults and young people. He has served on the Advisory Board for Citizenship at Bristol Graduate School of Education and there developed this approach to citizenship education. The material outlined in these books has been taught to the first generation of PGCE Citizenship students at Bristol in 2001 and has been explored at the classroom level with St Mary Redcliffe and Temple School in Bristol.
